After years of faithful service, my Fujifilm X-T2 is finally moving on to a new home (and, if fate allows, possibly reincarnating as a new lens). It’s the camera that truly sparked my love for photography. The one that taught me to slow down, look closer and find stories in the quiet corners of everyday life.
Now, in its place sits the Fujifilm X-T5: newer, faster, and for the first time, actually mine from brand new. It feels a little like meeting the future version of an old friend: familiar in shape, but with sharper eyes and more confidence.
I’m excited to see how this camera nudges my work in new directions. Maybe it’ll push me to photograph people more boldly, linger longer in small moments, or experiment with light and colour in ways I’ve only admired from afar.
Here’s to new tools, new discoveries, and to remembering that the joy isn’t just in the photos, but in the wandering, observing, and learning along the way.
